Experience the rich history and culture of the Jacaranda City, the administrative capital of South Africa. The first stop is the impressive Voortrekker Monument. Enjoy spectacular views over Pretoria and surrounds from the top of the monument building. From there we drive
past the central prison (where Nelson Mandela was kept prior to Robben Island), which housed the gallows, and we then proceed to the Paul Kruger House Museum. On route to Melrose House we cross Church Square. We stop at the Union Buildings for a beautiful view of the city and the lovely gardens in front of the building. Via Government Drive we pass several official government houses and a host of embassies. We will drop you at your hotel for a quick shower before we depart to attend the cocktail party at the conference centre. |

Embark on a discovery of the racial segregation experienced by millions of South Africans just over a mere decade ago. Inside the Apartheid Museum there are excellent displays on the Soweto
uprising, ANC in exile, petty apartheid, solitary confinement, anti-apartheid movements abroad, sport boycotts, etc. Learn about our new democratic country, the inauguration of Nelson Mandela as President and witness one of the most progressive constitutions in the world.
We then walk over to Gold Reef City, Johannesburg’s primary theme park and casino. Fun rides include a trip on a sight seeing train, run-away train and a host of other exhilarating rides. Experience Johannesburg as it was at the height of the GOLD RUSH in the late 1890`s. We view the "old" city by train and stop over for lunch at one of the restaurants. After lunch we descend down one of the gold mines to ± 200 meters below surface and observe how gold was mined. We also view a gold pouring and visit the many exhibitions and shops. We will depart at approximately 17h30 back to your hotel. |

Get picked up at you hotel and drive through to Soweto (South Western Township). This sprawling metropolis of more than 3.5 million people on the outskirts of Johannesburg, is synonymous with South Africa’s turbulent past and its hopes for the future. Soweto is a multi-cultural composite of South African society today. Peek into the past – hostels, Freedom Square, the struggle for liberty. Tread the paths to greatness by Nelson Mandela and Walter Sisulu. Stand on the only road in the world, which carries the honour of two recipients of the Nobel Peace Prize. We will visit the original home of Nelson Mandela and an informal settlement. We will drive by the houses of Winnie Mandela and Desmond Tutu and view the affluent suburbs and buzzing street craft markets.
Lunch will be at the world famous Wandies restaurant in Soweto where you can enjoy a rich variety of traditional South African food (for your own account). We depart at approximately 13h00 from Soweto to be in time for the tour and dinner at the cultural village

Be collected from your hotel for an early start and proceed north west on a two hour drive. The reserve covers an area of appriximately 55 000 hectares, encircled by 4 rings of hills and situated on the eroded remains of a 1200 million year old extinct alkaline crater. You will spend the morning game viewing with your guide. This is a BIG FIVE reserve. It is malaria free and boasts more than 8000 head of game and over 350 bird species.
After our encounter with nature we drive through to Sun City, the palace of entertainment that never sleeps. Break for a hour lunch at own expense, and view "The Kingdom of Pleasure". All facilities e.g. Golf, Valley of the Waves, The Palace, etc are at your own expense. We depart at approximately 15h00 for your return trip to be in time for the conference dinner.

TOUR A: SUN CITY &
PILANESBERG
We depart from your hotel at approximately 07h30 and proceed north west on a two hour drive. After crossing the Hartebeespoort Dam we drive through Platinum country before we enter the Pilanesberg Nature Reserve near Sun City. The reserve covers an area of appriximately 55 000 hectares, encircled by 4 rings of hills and situated on the eroded remains of a 1200 million year old extinct alkaline crater. You will spend the day on game drives in search of lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant and rhino (the Big 5) and a variety of other animals and birds. The reserve is malaria free and boasts more than 8000 head of game and over 350 bird species. We overnight in one of the luxury hotels in the park.
After breakfast we drive to Sun City, "The Kingdom of Pleasure" that never sleeps. You can enjoy swimming at the Valley of the Waves, gambling at the casino and relaxing in general in this palace of entertainment. We return to your Hotel at approximately 18h00.

TOUR B: KRUGER NATIONAL PARK VIA BLYDE
RIVER CANYON
We depart from your hotel and travel east to the Mpumalanga Province travelling directly to the world famous Kruger National Park. We will spend the day on a game drive in this animal paradise and overnight in Skukuza rest camp inside the park.
After breakfast we travel via Kowyn`s Pass to the Sabie/ Graskop area where we will do the world renowned and spectacular Panorama Route which includes the Blyde River Canyon, Bourkes Luck potholes and Lisbon Falls. We return to Pretoria arriving back at your hotel at approximately 19h00.

KRUGER PARK INFORMATION
The Kruger Park was proclaimed as a national park in 1926 and was opened to tourists in 1927.
The park extends north-south over 390 km. It consists of natural bushveld and savannahs with the following different species:
